Just a quick note. If you use the stock turbo you will over spin it.
In addition to this, the stock turbo manifolds are prone to cracking.
If it happens in a car, it will surely happen in the air. A good
Garrett T04 with inconel turbine blades only costs about $700 You can
then replace the stock cast iron manifold with something fabricated from
stainless (or inconel if you can find something that will cut it.) that
will weigh less and withstand the heat. If the turbo is appropriately
chosen you will have much less exhaust backpressure which will result in
better fuel consumption. As for the compression ratio, I think you
would be OK with the higher compression ratio if you run real gas. This
provides a few other minor benefits. Slightly lower BSFC and exhaust
temps.
