This might work for an RV 6. The drawback is the
air has to turn 90 degrees to go through the core
and another 90 degrees to get out. At least at that
point the air is going slower. The outlet
duct is extended back along the side of the fuselage
to take advantage of the low pressure area above the wing.

One of the motor mount tubes passes through the outlet
duct but again the air should be going comparatively
slowly.
