The V6-STOL is an ultralight?!?!??! It's a modified
Tri-Pacer for crying out loud!

The wings are also lengthened. I have not seen one yet with
Tri Pacer wings and I have seen a few of them around.
You are not going to get STOL out of Tri Pacer wings!
As I recall it was a Blanton idea.

I have been getting Bruce Franks news letter
since issue #2.

See the picture below. v6stol.jpg

The fuselage is actually
extended in the modification. It cruises around 120 knots

In their dreams at 6 to 8 gallons an hour :-)
When they tell you that and then tell you it is only burning
6 to 8 gallons an hour take that with a grain of salt :-).
Eight gallons an hour is about 110 HP giving them the benifit
of the doubt at a BSFC of 0.43. Six gallons per hour
is only 84 HP.

and seats four people. The FWF alone weighs what most
ultralights weigh. Sheesh! Based on "wing loading"?
In all simplicity, I have a hard time thinking of anything
this big and heavy as an ultralight.

Well try the DC3 the An2 Russian bi plane or some World War I bombers
:-)

BTW...keep up the good info on rotaries! I'm still
wrestling with it for the Bearhawk. All this constant
talk about cooling is scaring me off (grin)!

I like the Bear Hawk. Had a long talk with the designer at Oshkosh
and latter when he came back from Alaska at Arlington Wa.
Forgot his name. We talked about the rotary. Do you have his email
address. He should be on this list.
