difference is caused because the backside of the floor is exposed to
cowling pressure and the "front" side is in the relatively low press
area in the inlet. I gave up on moveable and set it as a two position
summer/winter. Works fine that way. Also, I added a smooth
large radius (~12"-15") extension from the floor of the NACA inlet
into the cowl plenum, plus diffuser sides to avoid the sudden
section increase of the stock inlet. My inlet smoothly increases
in size on all surfaces.
You'll need an electric jackscrew to move the floor if you want to do
it that way.
