Hi David,

 I ran a couple of Stainless Supertrapps on a small block Chevy V8 in my
Datsun 260Z for a while. These are 21" long with a 2.5" inlet. I considered
running one on my airplane but think Ive decided against it for a couple of
reasons:

1) As Paul says the exhaust is output radially. This would be draggy and
would also be putting exhaust gases against the fuselage.

2) It takes a lot of discs to free it up enough that it flows well. I
replaced these with a single Flowmaster muffler and the engine was
noticeably more powerful.

3) The stainless is just for appearance. The muffler guts are mild steel
packed with fiberglass. The 13B exhaust would probably burn it up quickly.

I think I am going to look at a racing muffler from Borla. Sold by Summit
its all stainless and is pretty compact and light at about 8 pounds I think
(my Supertrapps are about 10 pounds each).
