Hi Again Everyone.
Thanks for the input about my mount. I tried call several companies in my
area and get an answer to my question. Most of the places didn't know but one
guy went and measured a housing for a 0320 with conical mounts. He informed
me that measuring from corner to corner of the mounting points that where the
X is formed that it is in the center of the crankshaft. Sense I am using the
original mounting points from the original motor mount I must assume that the
center point for the original mount is right and the cowl line is wrong. I am
going to try to send some pictures of the mount and hope you guys get them.
If you think I am going about this wrong let me know, I hope to get to the
final welding next week.

They say measure twice and cut once. Well, that's not so, it's measure till
you go blind then cross your fingers and cut.
Thanks again

If the difference is only 1.5 inches it is probably due to down thrust.
What does Van's say about the down thrust angle? Some airplanes use it
and some don't. As I recall Van uses at least side thrust.
I can't believe the cowling is off.

The picture is OK. Looks like the front down tubes need to connect
to the bed tubes further forward. The current set up will put too
much bending stress on the large bed tubes right where those
forward down tubes weld on.

Please standback a bit and take another so we can see the
whole mount. Can you suspend the engine with a chain hoist instead of
the engine stand?
