Paul, just to let everybody know that my oil temp problem seems to have become
manageable now that I was able to retract the gear on this weekend's flight. My
second oil cooler is located in the nose gear wheel well, and when the gear is
down, I don't get much flow thru this radiator. When I pulled the gear up, the
oil temp (return from coolers) dropped from 225 to 200-205 degF. I took the
plane up to 170 kts which was again 34" (out of 40" avail) of boost @ 4800 rpm
(2,200 prop) & (1,800' alt/65 degF oat) with full pitch (90"). Turbine inlet
temp dropped to 1,520 deg F. Wasn't there long enough to see how other temps
stabilized.
Next flight will be with main gear doors on and will take to higher altitudes
(weather permitting).
