I personally am looking ahead Bill to at least 300 HP.
Most people have had to add extra radiators so we are
speculating that perhaps the water pump is not up to a
continuous 150 to 200 HP.
I had a long talk with Jim Mederer (Racing Beat) today
and he said the stock pump was really only flowing 30 GPM
given the restrictions in the water jacket. Not only does he
grind grooves inside the water jacket but he "ports" it
a bit around the spark plug areas. On his 900 HP turbo
three rotor he is using a sprint car pump from KSE
somewhere in Tenn. I will have the phone number later.
This pump has a completely enclosed impellor and will
pump 60 GPM through a "ported" three rotor. He stated
it is much less sensitive to flow restrictions than the
stock pump.

BTW there are thirty dyno hours on the 900 HP three
rotor with no blowups so far. Not all at 900 HP however.
BSFC is slightly under 0.5 or roughly 0.47.
He is running Ianettie one piece 3 mm ceramic apex seals
and backs up Ianettie's claim of almost no wear.
Also BTW the Mazda racing pump is no better than the stock
pump. The bearing housing is aluminum rather than cast iron
so it is some what lighter. Early Mazda pumps were all
cast iron and those are the ones that weigh 14 pounds.
Later pumps had the housing changed to aluminum with
a cast iron bearing housing.
