Ed please count the fins per inch on that Earl's oil cooler you took off
your
airplane for us. I am kind of curious how well it meets Fred's
criteria.

The fin area measures 7 5/8" height by 11" wide with the side tanks adding
another 1 1/2" each bringing it to 14" total width.  There are 25 rows in
the 7 5/8" height runing from side tank to side tank.  The rows are
separated by approx 3/16" inch space, in this space are the fins at 15 fins
per inch.  The cooler is 2" thick. The oil channels are approx 3/32" thick
as best I could measure.
