The hot tip is to use the units option in MathCAD by MathSoft. It lets you write
equations and commentary just like they appear in a text book, including Greek
symbols and figures that update automatically with data changes.
If you have mixed unit systems, you can input the data in whatever format they
give it to you, then list it in consistent units and/or familiar units. Recently,
I took metric dimensions on brake parts, English units on weights and speeds, and
output brake heat loads in both English and metric units. I also uses MathCAD
when sizing the SIRTF spacecraft at JPL, but I guess they didn't get the point on
the Polar Orbiter.
