Cost is everything with those guys and this for sure will cost more and
not fit
as well. Engine length is almost everything to car packaging. So the big
area flat
thin rad fits fine. These also work well with cheap large diameter
electric fans.

 BTW a short engine is also high on their priorities especially
for sideways mounted front drives and that is one of the reasons for the 
siimiesed(sp?) cylinders and the V6.
