I don't think it will work Archie. You still have
the friction from the dead rotor.
I think if you just throttle back and lean it out
everything will be fine as the drag of the airplane
will go way down and so too will the fuel burn and HP.

Another thought that comes to mind is that if one rotor
is shut down, so is it's seal lubrication.
