 I was just talking to Bob at Lapco, who Bruce mentioned had just lapped a
set of side housings for him and had them nitrided down the street.  My
question is what is the correct surface roughness that I should end up with
for proper break in of all the side seals?  He said they can go to a mirror
finish, but when I said i needed a factory roughness, he said I'd " have to
drag it down the driveway" maybe, say 600 grit scuff, does that sound
right??  Hayes said they sometimes clean p good housings w/ a jitterbug
sander, so I'm assuming 600 grit on a wet sanding pad done by hand in a
reasonably orbital fashon would be OK, or am I way wrong??

Bruce, did their work come out OK?  BTW I found the lapco address...
