X-Mozilla-Keys:
Huh. We measured the oil temp drop and pressure drop in the C177rg model oil
cooler in cruise (we have a very extensive webpage of mods and tests at
http://cardinal.mlink.net/html.tech which includes the 'howl cowl mod that
didn't work-reverse airflow) and it was only 6 degrees, and 0 in climb! Of
course this is a small oil cooler, [an afterthought in the design dept], a
lousy air intake (NACA) and exhaust pathway (typical Cessna design, blows
directly on firewall). A 20 drop is a lot to ask for-and the C177rg is a
200hp engine. That is a type certified aircraft for ya.
