When mike first proposed this mount I did not think
too much of the idea. After I thought about it for
awhile I decided it was not so bad after all.
It is made from aluminum plate and extruded angles.
Mike felt the big advantage was there is no
welding required.

IMHO the main drawback is it pushes the engine too far
forward. Also it may be a little hard to work on
the accessories such as water pump and alternator.
I think however a belt would fit in somehow.

Mike sent me some drawings and I found the dimensions
on the RV non-dynafocal type mount from the RV
drawings I had. I decided to draw it up to scale
to investigate potential  problems. The other thing to
think about is aluminum has 1/4 the fatigue limit
of 4130 steel so the stress concentrations
in the bolted joints may cause cracks.
 
I have'nt calculated the weight or cost but they could
be considerable.
