bearings.
Both of these solutions defeat the simple approach I was attempting,
which means if there is a real mechanical problem here, the approach
needs to be abandoned. There is no reason to retain direct-drive/ducted
fan, if the rotary cannot be operated in this mode without engine modifications
or mechanical add-ons, which I am not equipped or prepared or qualified
to do.

Jim is not at that stage yet Perry. I suspect they will use a system
like the Ramona ducted fan with a sheet metal housing and an outboard
thrust bearing. Don't panic yet. Yours is such low power and the e-shaft
is so much better than a crank I think Bill is being a little too
conservative. Keep an eye on those main bearings and stay within
gliding distance to that wonderful long runway you have to work with
there at Macminville. BTW what is the runout on your prop extension?
