When you run a DOS extender program like ACAD 11 or ACAD 12
or Lotus 123 Release 4 on a modern 400 mega-cycle per second computer
things really zing right along. No GUI overhead! Don't tell anybody
this secret as their productivity will double and their boss will
fire them for sitting around and doing nothing.
Just send the BMP unzipped. I can covert to gif or jpg using
xv under Linux. I got pkunzip under Linux but I have yet to
learn how to use it :-)

Hi Paul,
Heres that scan of the IntelliCad98 manual listing the ACAD file
compatabilities.
One of the things that attracted me to Intellicad was Visio's commitment
along with a few other companies to create an open drawing file standard.
The biggest impediment to a competitive market in CAD software has been
Autodesk's clever strategy of changing the drawing file standard with every
release, a moving target for any competitor. I guess IntelliCad will end up
on the heap next to GenericCadd and all the other really good PC Cad programs
that couldn't survive the marketplace. No doubt as a result of their
successful predatory marketing practices Autodesk tells me I need to upgrade
my R12 by December 31 to R2000 for a measely $600 or I loose my upgrade
privileges forever. Nice guys, huh? I suspect in the next Autocad release
or so there will be a direct Web link to the drawing editor that will allow
Autodesk to collect a drawing entity tax and deduct it directly from my
credit card as I work. I hope I haven't given them any ideas......
There's a sale on Vaseline in the really big jars at Walgreens, gotta go ;^)
