I will be using a HYVO chain for my reduction unit.  I originally had
designed for a Polychain belt (the best offset shaft solution if you need
want that) but the decreased width and ability to run in an oil bath of the
chain offered significant advantages in my situation.  The Morse HYVO
ratings from the catalog say that I can run my small pulley at 6500 RPM
with no problems.  The chain width will be 1.5".  That should be plenty
with approx 200 hp max rating for the engine.  The chain weighs about 10 lb
IIRC (I have the info at home) and the pulleys weigh a ton (solid) until
you modify them appropriately.  I know nothing of the Geshwinder unit
design or history.  I had a co-worker who designed a quite successful unit
for a 500 hp V-8 for some venture in New Zealand and the unit was
certified.  He told me some of the common pitfalls and confirmed the
ratings.
