I would like to share with you a old idea, about alternative cooling system.
Maybe someone before us had think the same. Let's go:
Thinking in liquid cooling system, we ever think in conventional radiators
blocks and derivates from it.
Let's think with me in this background ( hypotesis):
1- cooling drag is a real ( not good) fact
2- cooling drag, thus as induced drag, is more big than parasit drag, in clean
birds.
3- wings are necessary for airplane sustentation.
4- sustentation makes indeced drag, what can be decreased, but not eliminated.
5. cooling drag must be decreased. If eliminated, we will make a goal.
Tesis:
1. with less drag, best is the ratio power x cruise velocity ( so, best is
$$$$$$ relationship)
2. Jets has heat generated in his engines a lot to do de-ice by thermic de-icers
on attack side of the airfoils
3-Turbo prop do not generate heat alot to termic de-ice, so
turbo prop uses inflatable boots.
4- convetional engines, included rotaries, makes less heat than turbo props.
5. If we try de-ice with heat cooling liquid pre-heated by a rotary engine , the
de-ice will be unsatisfatory and the cooling fluid will decrease a lot his
temperature.
Hey, if the cooling fluid will lost heat, decreasing his temperature, is not
this the reason for a cooling system???
Thus, using thermic boots on attack side of the wings, we will eliminate the
traditional radiators blocks. Since the de-ice thermic boots has the same shape
as the original airfoil wing, we will have no cooling drag...this is almost
to discover the moto-perpetuous engine.. :-)
btw, I don't know if the correct term used in english would be "thermic boots",
as "inflatable boots".

Turns out it has been tried but it does not work very well.
