Paul Yaw and I agreed not to bother each other about it until early next
year because we are both too busy on other projects.  The recent questions
have got me thinking about it again and I have figured out a way to test
the fix on the housing without actually running the pump.  Then the fix can
be verified on a running system. I'll get busy on the housing tests in
January but can't say when PY can do the full up tests.  Adapting someone
else's pump is no problem if you've got the time, volume and money...fixing
the existing pump looks easier to me.
