I got a 71bsa a65 and a 71triumph tr6r and the lucas electrics are still
original except the electronic ignitions I put in them 15 years ago.
I am not sure how many watts they put out but mine have been reliable
through all the years.

All 12 volt Lucas motorcycle alternators (67 & later) generated 120 watts at 3000
RPM. These can be identified by the black epoxy encapsulation of the stator
windings and 2 stator wires (requires a 4 diode rectifier) coming off the coil.
1975 Norton 850 MK 3s and 1979 and later Triumphs have 180 watt alternators which
have brown epoxy encapsulation and 3 wires (requiring a 6 diode rectifier) exiting
the stator. These alternators were also slightly wider.
