My point is that making the four-line display programming more
complicated or suggesting a display with even more lines of data
drives cost of the multi-function device UP when there are other
economical off-the-shelf alternatives easily available. The
economy of a multi-function device for some jobs is small or
non-existent.
I think you hit the nail right on the head here Barry.
When you look at the cost of larger displays they shoot up rapidly.
And then you have the single point of failure issue. You can go out
and buy a bunch of analog and mechanical gauges for the price of one
of these displays and you don't have to worry about them all failing
at the same time.
So this means one page of the 40 X 4 display with these functions:
RPM
MAP
MPG
FF Fuel flow
FFT Fuel total
IT Intake temp
MS Mixture setting
SPK Setting of prop knob
TD Table data in use
TA Table address in use
SF Staging flag.
Feel free to install redundant RPM and MAP or any others for that matter.
Does anybody strongly disagree?
