Those are important because the system is in-the-air programmable.
(The display itself will not be but the EFI computer is.)
There are two complete EFI systems. One can be programed while the engine is running
on the other. You then switch to the newly programed unit and let the
engine run on it to see how well it works. If not switch back. This is the way
Tracy designed it and it it is not optional. It is also working very well. This
allows you to taylor the fuel supply and ignition map to your airplane and
prop combination. It also provides a back up computer if one fails.
AS I was away for a week, I only scanned the messages on
this subject. Was the inclusion of oil and coolant
temperature and pressure rejected? These are high on my
priority list.
Yes they were rejected because there are no oil or coolant sensors supplied
with the EFI computers. You will have to provide those along with gages.
Intake manifold
air temperature IS displayed because there is a sensor for this used by the
EFI computers.
BTW this is an extremely important number for turbo engines.
the intake air temperature mainly controls whether the engine will detonate
or not. WWII P38 pilots were trained to control the boost and power with intake
air temperature. PL
