Anybody interested in some PC boards for this system let me know so
I can order enough. If you buy one or more for your own use it
will cut my cost of the PC board tooling.

I know this is way over the heads of most of you.
Sorry about that. However there are a few of you out there familiar with
this kind of stuff besides Tracy.

I'm about to load Linux.  Do I understand it right that I will be able to

Heck I am still learning a lot myself. This PIC thing is world wide.
I just picked up a magazine at the magazine store called Practical 
Electronics. http://www.epemag.wimborne.co.uk

It is jammed with articles and ads about the PIC.
Also plenty of web sites. You can find most of those by using a
search engine such as http://www.ask.com

It is a lot of fun. It is kind of addicting when you make hardware do things 
with software. Somebody who wishes to remain anonymous just suggested adding  
an auto pilot function since we are taking in data from a GPS anyway.
He suggested a model airplane servo moving a weight attached to 
the aileron control tubes. 
 
Don't know the cost yet for the bare boards but I would say 
somewhere between 30 and 50 dollars.
