-- IVO PROP FAILURE! I have just had my second failure of an IVO in-flight adjustable
propeller. The first was loose bushing in the
prop blades themselves. It seems that there is a problem with the Rotax 582 and a 3
to 1 gear ratio. IVO recalled the prop and fixed(?) it,
at no cost to me. They knurled the squash plates to bite into the blades themselves.
This was supposed to correct the problem. But, after
only about 50 hours, both of the squash plates fractured. Lucky I found it on a
pre-flight, instead of in the air!!! I am going back to a GSC
