Paul, if you inject the fuel too far from the intake port you run the risk of
icing up inside the manifold. This would be the same as a carb icing, so
you'll
need a provision for carb heat.

BTW that would be the last thing I would need to worry about
with a turbo charger. The proplem is not that the intake air
is too cool, the big problem is it is too hot.
Anyway since Tracy's EFI system puts out intake air temp
and IF that proved to be true I could always add heat.
God knows we got plenty heat to go around :-)
It is worth it for a lower fuel burn.

Carb icing is caused by the pressure drop in the venturi
& the simultaneous evaporation of the fuel. I doubt that the
fuel evap alone will cause any ice, and there is no significant
pressure drop in the straight manifold.
