Greetings Paul,

 If:

 1) hi-volume/hi-pressure injectors are expensive

 2) optimal BSFC is obtained at the end of the runners

 3) hi-press fuel systems are more complicated and expensive

is it possible to use TBI injectors/fuel system directed into the end
of the runners, surrounded by the plenum, downstream of the throttle
body?

Would Tracy's EFI controller be able to control TBI units?

Since big-block trucks use (IFIRC) two-barel TBI, are hi volume
injectors available at a reasonable cost?

Is there a relaibility issue between TBI and TPI injectors and/or
systems?

                Just wondering, Martin

I disagree with your first premise. The injectors you buy from
JC Whitney at $30 to $50 each, on page 200, in the June Catalog are
probably the same ones you pay a lot more for from a Mazda dealer.
Made by the same companies. There are only four or so companies that
make injectors.

You just need to get an injector that flows enough fuel to
handle about 50 HP each or above.

It would be tough to design a manifold for a TBI that would insure that
the fuel distribution is even and equal to all four or six ports. It
would be a step back to carbs.
