A very simple way used by a friend of mine on his Lancair is to put a port
(like a static port) in the bottom of the wing at 12.5% of the chord from
the leading edge. He has a pressure gauge in his panel that measures the
differential pressure between that port and the dynamic pressure of the
pitot tube. He calibrated by making a series of flights to stall
conditions, noting the pressure reading at stall, and the pressure reading
at a margin above stall. These are marked on the guage. He finds these
marks valid regardless of wing loading.
