Does anyone have the port timing (inlet and exhaust) for the four rotor Le-Mans PP and Racing Beat's turbo motor?
Inlet opens :...... BTDC

BTW I forgot. You need to cut out the rotor and the eccentric shaft.
Stick a pin in the e-shaft center and rotate the rotor and e-shaft
while measuring the angles. In other words use the drawing
to build a model.
The SAE paper 920309 on the Lemans engine never mentioned the
port timings.
BTW they did try the injectors in the bells and they found it had
poor throttle response. In fact the engine misfired when the
throttle was slammed wide open for the first .1 second. For
racing that is unacceptable. I think we can live with it for
better BSFC in an aircraft.
At 6000 RPM and above there was no difference in
throttle response. Also no temporary enrichment was used during
this test. Temporary enrichment historically has been used in
carbs to solve this problem. The mechanism is called an
acceleration pump.
