This will tell you whether it is worth while to build a new
low profile manifold and a more streamlined cowling.

I'm going to build that new intake manifold regardless, because
my primary motive is weight reduction. The lower profile and
streamlining are side benefits. I'd like to get 50-100 lbs. out
of that engine installation, which shouldn't be too difficult,
in just three areas: intake, exhaust, and flywheel. I can
carry passengers now, but don't feel comfortable doing so yet
because of the weight. Took my son who only weighs 60 lbs. or
so and could feel the difference. I've carried enough fuel in
the past to equal the weight of a 200 lb. passenger so I know I
can carry a passenger, but would feel more comfortable doing so
if the plane were lighter.

The manometer can be used on the duct to find out what is
going on with that too.

Good ideas, but I have so many construction projects on this plane
don't know when I would have time to build that test setup.

BTW David Lednicer might be interested enough in your project to
run your airplane through his 3D aircraft pressure simulation
program.

I've had some contact with David, he sent me that BASIC NACA 16
series airfoil generator program.
