Why Titanium? It is a horrible material to work with and very expensive. You
don't need the Hi temp properties, so all it offers here is strength to
weight. For the size fan you are making you could experiment with a blade
having a 4130 tip/spar bonded in (Paul indicated this bonds well IIRC). The
cost difference and ease of experimenting could make up for the requirement
for more strength due to added weight. Sort of a spar becomes tip design.
You might even be able to make it from 7075-T6 and just accept the lesser
erosion resistance while experimenting.
