I have heard of this technique also.  The trick is to fix the two antennas at
a distance that is related to the wavelength of the GPS signal.  The
technique looks at signal characteristics in addition to pseudorange from
timing measurements.  It apparently gives tremendous accuraccy, and does not
rely on a DGPS transmitter at all.  Wish I know more about it.
