I got them in the hangar Bill. Will try to remember to
bring them down on Sunday. 47 MPH sticks in my mind for the
172 depending of course on load. The 182 is about 10 MPH higher
as I recall.

By goodness gracious I do have it here.  Here it is in the
appendix of Donald Crawfords book "A Practical Guide to
Airplane Performance and Design third printing".

182 Skylane page 191 V sub s is 57 MPH.
Wow! How's that for memory by an old guy? :-)

The 172 Skyhawk is 51 MPH. Opps! I was off by 4 MPH.
The C 150 is 48 MPH.
The C 185 is 56 MPH.
The Super Cub is 43 MPH.

I think all those are at gross weight.

The energy in a crash is M * V^2 so you want to crash at the slowest
possible speed.
