I just bought and looked into the exhaust ports. The rotors look clean and the
seals seem to be free in the slots. When I turn the engine over with
a socket wrench on the front nut I get the three poofs in a row I am supposed
to get from each rotor. Thanks to Bruce Turentine for that trick.
Next step is to rig some sort of electric motor to turn the engine over
so I can check for three equal compression pulses in the spark plug holes.
If that is OK I will do a pressure leak down test on the cooling system.
If all looks good and it generates at least 180 HP on my cheap dyno test
stand I am going to fly it as is. No overhaul.

Depends on how often the owner changed the oil. See the last message.
Klause claims he has rigged a water spray to spray water into his O-200 intake.
He claims that this blows the carbon out of the engine. He claims
that the reason this happens is the parts suddenly cool and the carbon
bond is broken and the carbon then blows out. He could be pulling my leg.
