Subject: (rx7) [4] Mazda plans revamp of vehicle line-up in 2002

Got this off the Reuters Business News:

" HIROSHIMA, Japan, June 11 (Reuters) - Mazda Motor Corp is planning a
major revamp of its vehicle line-up in 2002, including the successor to
a key model, the Demio compact, said President Mark Fields.
...
"It is planning to introduce a new vehicle for North America next year
that has not been previously sold there and will have some minor model
changes and limited edition vehicles. "

They really need to lower the price of parts. That is pissing off old
customers big time.

Don't know if Mazda is organized like other car companies, but most
US distributors (your friendly dealer) are not related to the manufacturer
and the importer/distributor sets the prices and has a guarenteed
monopoly on cars and parts. The factory can't set either car or parts
prices for all the companies that I know about. Seems like the importers
are run totally by salesmen who are interested in this qtr's cashflow
ONLY.
