Address for J&S knock sensor package:
J&S Electronics Inc
13925 Parkway Drive, po box 2199
Garden Grove, CA 92842-2199
714-534-6975 phone and fax on my directions
It comes with a new mic and all the parts to install it, including a monitor.
Reviewing my instructions, it has an optional connection to the MAP/TPS
sensor (this is for an automatic inhibit of the unit's signal at less then
2.5V [half throttle] at the tps or 0 psi on the map) , requires an intercept
to the ECU light green wire (which is the ECU composite output signal to the
leading plug ignitor). Max retard of the leading plug can be set at either 10
or 20 degrees. No retard on trailing plugs. There is a bar graph readout of
the retard activation (and an optional o2 sensor readout if you want it).
There is mention that "noisy engines" can overactivate the retard, which the
inhibit is designed to overcome at full throttle. Cold turbos "creak" as they
warm up and are know to cause retarding. The unit is that sensitive-tapping
with a screwdriver on the mic will test the retard.
I would be interested to see if a psru would also cause noise.
I suggest Tracy test one of these units on his engine/psru/Ec2 to see if it
could be used as optional equipment. Maybe his ignitor signal is allready
compatable.
Marc Wiese 20B in something this way comes.....
Yes I think that is the address I tried to find. It is an apartment residence.
Probably not a large market for these things.
