I want to be able to fit and not cram everything into it. If at all
possible I hope to able to drop the thrustline a little to get better
over the nose visibility. I also have to keep the weight at less than
500 lbs.
I forgot what Chuck's three rotor installation weighs but I think it
was under 500 pounds. Chuck?
The bare two rotor is about 190 pounds. So add some for a three rotor.
Lets say 300 pounds. As I recall the actual weight of the bare three rotor
is well under 300 pounds.
Properly done the motor mount should be under 25 pounds.
The turbo and waste gate about 30 pounds.
The two rotor starter is about 6 pounds.
the alternator is about 9 pounds.
The Marcotte gear box is about 55 pounds.
The coils I would guess are about 4 pounds each on a two rotor.
You might be able to save some weight here by using the
Chev V8 one small coil per plug method.
Two gallons of coolant are about 16 pounds.
Gallon and a half of oil about 8 pounds.
We are up to 453 pounds so far.
Lot depends on the wall thickness of the intake plumbing.
I have no idea on the rad and intercooler weights yet.
The picture is of Chuck's mockup. There is some evidence that the
Ross gear box shown is not up to the job.
