I do agree the disk needs to be larger.
I will have to take a closer look at the way that disk is captured
by the lever. That is the trick. I don't think it is welded on.
I think it was made in one piece and then it was forged some
how. Probably by heating the end of the pin and applying tons
of pressure to form the a loose rivet head. See the picture below.
You might have to make a couple of prototypes and test them
to see if you can make a workable device.

Thanks Jeff. That sounds like it really will solve the problem of
the stock 90-92 turbo waste gate. The only thing left to worry about is the need
of a Inconel wheel. Some one needs to install a TIT thermocouple and
measure the temp at various HP levels and mixtures. I could do that on my
dyno as soon as I get my redrive and computer from Tracy.
BTW I am still looking for a junk prop that I can cut down and run the
engine at 6000 RPM static full power. Search your hangar guys.
