injector failure. I
presume that this is pilot activated. How does the pilot determine that
the injector is
failed if s/he doesn't have a fuel flow meter? Or does the pilot just
try the "limp
home" setting, discover more power, and assume that the injector has
failed?

mode) the engine will run rough (I don't mean a little rough, you will not
be able to ignore it), second the EGT on the rotor with the failed injector
will likely drop as it will lean past "best lean" and with less fuel in the
mixture, less temp in the exhaust. Tracy may be able to add to the list of
likely indicators.
