All ball bearings. Internal spur gear reduction.
No dampers of any kind. Direct drive off the flywheel with pinion
gear ball bearing support internally. Power Sport rates the box at
300 HP. $6,500 for the box and flywheel.

I spoke with them at length one day. I saw all the research on harmonic
vibrations et al. I really didnt understand most of it, but the long and
short of it is that the system is so stiff that the predictions and live
testing show only a minor vibration in the front end because the alternator
belt is soft enough to allow a minor resonance at 4000 and 6500 rpm. There
is another harmonic in the PSRU that is only about half as big as what is
caused by the pulley. Although it shouldnt ever cause any significant wear
they are still planning on adding a small rubber dampener.

Also, someone asked about the PS cooling system. Here is the PS Radiator and
oil/water heat exchanger in the foreground. They report oil temps at 220
comming out of the engine.

Sorry I didn't respond to your last e-mail, Paul. But even in this day and
age, I still dont have internet access while camped at my C-140 :-)

Dave Leonard

Well welcome home Dave. You must have had a tailwind all the way to CA from OSH :-)
Thanks for the picture.
