For those of you who might want to consider the R1/R2 stock 3rd gen having
the double oil coolers (2 of the 2"thick x 5"h x 10" wide stock units) there is a
web outfit selling a conversion for the base/PEG stock cars that were 5
speeds and had only 1 oil cooler. Try looking for "crooked willow racing" on
the web. They sell the a kit that has 2 new oil coolers and all an lines and
adapters (lines and adapters which you can get from your local Parker vendor
if you want to make your own). And I think the oil coolers are of very high
quality although I do not remember who made them (Setrab?). The auto tranny
3rd gen added a tranny cooler (same one as the 2nd right side oil cooler)
with different fittings on it to supplement the radiator tranny cooler.
It seems the one small stock 3rd gen oil cooler is mighty efficient, as my
oil temps never go over 180/190F on the highway even when the water is 210F
on hot 95F degree days at 3000-4000 rpm at 70mph in lower gears.
