Yes; those are deflector vanes about 1/2" high to eliminate the unlikely
possibility of 'swirl-flow choking'; and perhaps also expedite the flow
toward the exit.  There are also some straightening vanes in the tappered
section at the exit.  These are all inconel.

The 'secondary' muffler is really more like a resonator, designed for low
back-pressure with perforated through tube and a restriction in the

middle

to force some of the flow through the 1/4" perforations.  Hopefully

further

reduce the noise.  It is made of SS, and if it does it's job right, will

be

replaced with an inconel version when the inside tube starts

deteriorating.

I can see the inside of this looking into the exit pipe, so I can keep an
eye on it.  Plan to test with, and without, this secondary muffler on the
dyno.
