Al, tell me more. For some reason, I could not get the first picture,
but I
did get the one with the manifolds installed on the engine.
I need an end view sketch because my intake will have to go up at about a
25
(+ -) degree angle to clear the exhaust. Also, mine will have a turbo.

On my manifold the runners are perpendicular at the engine flange; and the
TB flange is at 10 degree slant to angle the TB upwards. It is 4 1/2"
flange face to flange face at the runner centerline. I don't see a serious
problem putting the runners at an angle to the engine flange, but will need
a little more flange to flange distance.
I've misplaced (as in deleted) your e-mail address. Send to me and we can
pursue further, and I can put you in touch with Cliff.
Al
but for normally aspirated engines it flies in the face of everything
Mazda and Racing Beat have learned over the past 20 years :-) It escapes me
why Al did
not wrap it over the top of the engine like most people do.
Pretty simple really; those "wrap-overs" just don't fit in my installation.
And what I see on some of those; they don't qualify as "tuned" anyway.
Before we make any further judgements, it's probably best to see what Ed
learns from his adjustable length runners; and what I learn from a dyno run.
Still won't give a 1:1 comparison, but should give us some clues.
