I did, Brian.  But on my RX7, not with a rotary installed in a plane.  I had
130,000 miles on my '87 13B NA and it was acting as if the apex seals were
sticking from time to time.  I did the water trick, disconnected the oil
metering pump(and using 2-cycle in the gas) and disconnected the electrical
connector to the EGR valve 'valve'.

I didn't see anything significant coming out of the exhaust when I was
running the water through it (I sprayed it into the air cleaner, with the
filter removed, just before the air flow sensor) but I think Paul may have
been right when he said that the cat converters may have blocked it.

At any rate, I noticed an immediate increase in acceleration and power and
my gas mileage has gone up from about 18 mpg to 22 (I had also changed the
air filter...a chipmunk was setting up housekeeping in the filter housing! I
also added a course screen across the opening of the intake tube  so he
couldn't get back in.).  I plan on putting it up for the winter and tearing
it apart then to see what it looks like inside...when I put it back in, I'll
eliminate the cat converters and remove as much of the electronic emission
stuff that I can and anything else I can think of at the time...'till then,
it's just a guess as to what effect the water may have had.  Apparently, it
did no harm.

I'm intending to modify the engine as much as possible while it's still in
the car...then eventually mount it in my Long.
