The more I think about this idea, the more I like it.  However, the latest
problem I have conjured up is that the mounts are going to be right smack in
the middle of the air intake ducts if I use the standard RV cowl.  :(   Maybe
they will be low enough to get out of the way, I am going to have to do some
measuring...

Well they will be inline but about 10 inches back from the opening. 
The whole thing is based on a low rad air intake with the rad on the bottom
of the engine. I forgot Dave... do you have an RV4 or an RV6?
