Design Features
High power to weight ratio.
Small frontal area.
Economical specific fuel consumption.
Low levels of vibration.
Integral lightweight belt-type reduction drive to propeller.
Suitable for either tractor or pusher installation.
50 to 1500 hours TBO (depending on duty cycle).
Technical Specification
Type
Twin Rotor Wankel-type rotary engine.
Displacement
294 cm³ per rotor.
Power Output
85 BHP at 6600 engine rpm. Alternatively 134 kW at 7500 rpm or up to 160
kW at 8250 rpm.
# 134 Kw is 180 HP! 160 Kw is 215 HP! As I was saying a while ago the smaller Wankels
have a lot of potential for higher RPM's and even better power to weight ratios.
I assume this last power level is the one with the 50 hour TBO. PL
Weight 56.5 kg for full wet running installed assembly as illustrated, including 2 kW
generator, throttle actuator, fuel pump and pressure regulator etc. Propeller not
included.
#That is 124 pounds! PL
Housing Cooling
Water-glycol mixture with integral centrifugal pump and dual parallel fail-safe
thermostat system.
Rotor Cooling
Air-cooling using belt-driven centrifugal fan.
Direction of Rotation
Anti-clockwise (looking at face of prop flange).
Ignition System
Fully duplicated 28V C.D. system with magnetic triggering. R.F. shielded.
Carburettors
Twin Tillotson diaphragm type. Close-in mounting minimises possible icing.
Altitude mixture compensating device (ACD) is available as option. EFI
option.
Fuel Feed
Electric pump.
Fuel Type
AVGAS (100LL) or Regular grade (min 92 RON) Mogas automotive (leaded
or unleaded).
Lubrication
Total loss via metering pump from separate tank.
Oil Usage
484cm³ per hour at 6000rpm and proportional to rpm.
Oil Type
Mobil Pegasus 1 or direct equivalents.
Starting System
By external cranking device to prop flange. A block heater option can be fitted
to assist ultra-low-temperature starting.
Generator
Optional direct-drive types.
Propeller Flange
6 x M8 on either 75 or 100 PCD.
Reduction Drive Option
Tooth belt system including heavy-duty rubber anti-torsional-vibration
device. Standard ratio 2.03 to 1.
