Very good idea Jerry. I think it will work fine. Could work with
the 2.17:1 psru  if a minor mod or two were made. 

A bit of explanation is in order. 
In the 2.85:1 psru, like Jerry has, power is taken from the planet
carrier instead of the ring gear. This is done by replacing the four pinion shafts
with bolts and using these bolts to fasten the planet carrier to the out
put shaft (prop shaft) flange or bulkhead. Jerry has made these bolts a bit longer
and bolted the hat section to the planet carrier. Here is a picture of the parts
in question. The planet carrier is the part on the left. the out put shaft
flange is in the upper right. The ring gear is locked to the housing in the
2.85:1 psru.
