Part of the problem was traced

to crank angle sensor turned 90 degrees from proper position.  Quiz:

figure out why the engine was able to run with this CAS adjustment?

I wasn't there in person to check this possibility out but I hadn't thought
of that.  Might have been confused about 'front' rotor in car or airplane
which are different in a tractor A/C
