Good Morning (in Utah)

Looking at the aluminum flywheel on the Marcotte redrive set me to

thinking.

How difficult would it be to implement a flywheel generator, like they're
planning for the new 48V car systems, in our aircraft situations?  Might

be

a small weight savings in that approach.

Certainly would. Not tough. You need the flywheel weight anyway.

Gee - Model T Fords used a permanent magnet flywheel alternator for years. If you
played
with a magnet as a child,  that looked more like a V rather than a horseshoe -
that is where it
came from - Vance

With solid state diodes it would be a lot more practical.
