It has occurred to me that Ford, with Mazda technology, could dominate
the world wide aircraft engine business up to 1000 HP within five years.
That includes the small turbo prop business.

It would take an all out PR blitz starting with building a turbo
four rotor and running it at Reno for a couple of years
while simultaneously certifying the engine in what ever
airplanes are suitable. The engine, as is, could pass the FAA 150
hour certification dyno test with consummate ease.
This would cost Ford near nothing compared to what they
usually spend. Petty cash.

Too bad Ford management does not have the vision.
